Living with this disease was a challenge, today it gives me uncertainty.
It all started at the age of one (1) year due to a virus that left after-effects in my body from a disease called poliomyelitis (infantile paralysis) which affected my lower limbs, legs and hips.
From a very young age I was treated at the San Rafael clinic in Maracaibo until I was 18 years old. When I was three (3) years old I was fitted with my first bilateral orthopaedic braces with a pelvic belt and shoes with my right foot higher than my left because my right leg was shorter than the other, and my two (2) crutches. I only had to use these devices for a short time because I had to undergo surgery; however, I started to walk holding my feet with my hands, resulting in open hips and cramped knees. When I was only nine (9) years old I had surgery on my hips and legs to stretch tendons, as well as cast treatments and some therapies. Many years later I was fitted with braces again.
Despite all my physical limitations, the struggle with feelings of low self-esteem, rejection from people because of my condition, thank God I always had the unconditional support, motivation and affection of my whole family.
I studied a technical career obtaining my TSU degree in Business Administration, I worked in customer service, I have taken courses in singing and four, because I am passionate about music. I also make jewellery and embroidery. I help with a little difficulty in housework, as my sister can't cope with the care of my mother who is in bed.
My urgency and the need I have for my devices forces me to ask for help so that I can continue to mobilise and move around with my own effort. My current braces are small, damaged and cause injuries to both legs due to my height and build. Living with this disease used to be a challenge and a life lesson, but today it has made me uncertain because this kind of problem has been painful, painful and exhausting. Going through this situation is frustrating as my family does not have the financial resources to purchase the aforementioned device.
This is why I am appealing to the nobility of your hearts to evaluate the possibility of carrying out this charitable work in my favour. Today I am knocking on the door of goodness and hearts willing to give, trusting and believing that God can use you to perform my miracle and obtain the equipment I need quickly.
